How do I know whether my coolant is G12 or G13?

How often does the coolant need to be changed?

In newer VW vehicles, there is generally no fixed replacement interval. The coolant is usually only replaced if work has been carried out on the cooling system or if the measured values are no longer within the specifications during maintenance.

For older vehicles, fixed replacement intervals of two to four years used to apply, depending on the type of coolant used at the time. You can find the relevant information for your vehicle in the service booklet or in the owner's manual.
